These dogs are not available for adoption because they are "too old or too bold" to be rehomed. Dogs Aid has a no destruction policy so instead we provide these dogs with a permanent home in the sanctuary so they can live out their days in a caring environment playing with other dogs like themselves. Some of these forever dogs are real characters so enjoy reading about them!

Harriet was handed into Maggie with a very bad leg injury. Unfortunatly she had to have her leg amputated and can't be released again so she will stay at the sanctuary. She is the latest addition to Maggie's girls and loves to eat Heinz egg custard! |

Jaffa was found straying and never re-claimed. Initially he was very snappy and would have a go at everyone. Eventually he and Maggie came to a compromise and if she needed to pick him up he would turn his back to her and let Maggie pick him up so he was facing out! When a grooming course needed volunteer dogs for their students to practice on Maggie sent Jaffa so they could practice handling a grumpy customer. However he's mellowed out over the years and now he wants attention from all the volunteers and enjoys getting groomed. |

Prince is a 10 year old dog who was a great family pet, he loves people, gets on well with the other dogs yet when his family moved house they left him behind in the back garden to fend for himself. One of our volunteers had been keeping an eye on him and brought him in when it was clear that his owners weren't coming back for him. Due to his age he is a forever dog but enjoys playing with the adoptable dogs and spends his days arguing with Judy. |

Rex came into us from Ballymun as a road accident. As he was getting better we noticed his behaviour was a bit strange and we thought he had had a knock on the head. Rex is fully recovered now but his behaviour is still quite strange so we now know that he isn't playing with a full deck of cards! He loves people but has obsessive behaviours and spends ages running in circles. |
